It was a warm afternoon when the Lincoln East JV team faced the Lincoln Southwest JV on the East High tennis courts. It was only the second match of the year, and Southwest ended up victorious, not losing any matches. Even with the loss JV tennis season has been a whirlwind of excitement thus far. It’s that time of year again. Eighth grade orientation took place last Thursday January 26, 2012, and it was hectic to say the least. Incoming freshman along with their parents filled the halls of East high school. Their agenda for the night was busy and full of excitement. To begin the eighth graders and their families filled the auditorium to listen to school officials discuss how to get involved and be successful at East. Everyone remembers their first day of school – the nerves of navigating a new building, the fear of not knowing anyone, and the excitement of finally being in high school. This year was no different. Freshmen toured the school, heard the rules from Mr. Mann, and got to learn about all the clubs that East has to offer – a fun day for all!

Zombies hit the streets of Lincoln the last weekend of August at the annual ZombieFest. Over 2,000 people gathered at Pershing Auditorium to destr0y their clothes, don fake wounds, and shuffle the streets of downtown Lincoln.
