Check them out as they sample apple pie, strawberry shortcake, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and orange cream popsicle.

Opening Night!

Tonight is the opening for the East fall musical: Grease. Join Ridell High, class of ’59, at 7pm for an evening of beloved songs, dancing, and high energy. All tickets are $6. The show will perform again on Friday and Saturday evening.

East Musicians Stack Up State-Wide

On Oct. 15, high school musicians from all over Nebraska auditioned for one of four All-State ensembles: Choir, Orchestra, Band, and Jazz Band. Today, the highly anticipated final list went up. East musicians are represented in three of the All-State groups. These students will participate in three days of extensive rehearsals and concert opportunities that will culminate in two Lied Center concerts on Friday, Nov. 18.

East Raises Awareness for Breast Cancer

East students went all out this week, showing their support for raising breast cancer awareness.  East kids decked themselves out in pink and showed their support at the football game.  The “pink out” brought good luck to the Varsity football team who won 21-7 against Columbus last night, clinching a berth in the State playoffs.

“8 Keys” Visits East

East’s Student Advisory Group, a group committed to improving the school, learned about the 8 Keys to Excellence yesterday.  Mrs. Spotanski, an LPS teacher, explained the 8 Keys to Excellence to the students, so that they can then incorporate them into East.

Ah, fall. The leaves are turning as the nights get longer and colder, and the end of fall sports is nigh – Cross Country included. For most of the teams members, the last meet is this Saturday. With one week left, there is much to look back on, as far as highlights and memorable meets go.
For Varsity qualifiers, however, there is still work to be done. Seven from the boys and girls teams, respectively, are in line for the districts meet this Thursday, and State on Oct. 21. …
