The Exploding Chicken of APUSH

While many AP classes would be categorized as quiet and productive, Mr Rippe’s first period APUSH class is quite unlike the norm. The class goons, John Brunk and Lorellee Kampschnieder, have a reputation for disrupting not only Mr Rippe’s teaching, but tests as well. As other students struggle to work on assignments, John and Lorellee work on having fun and talking as much as possible. Their antics have included, but are not limited to:
- Throwing water bottles
- Talking incessantly (including verbal abuse)
- Eating peanut-butter-and-jelly waffle sandwiches
- Poking classmates with pencils
- The “Exploding Chicken” (pictured)
- Drawing with highlighter on skin
- Stealing notebooks, pencils, pens, food, water bottles, purses, and backpacks from other students
While their continual disruptions can be, well, disrupting, classmates can almost agree that the distractions are occasionally worth the laughs.

I would like to point out that we still get our work done, well done at that (for the most part) thereby increasing the productivity of the class by injecting humor into a learning environment.
I agree…the class is still productive… we just make it more fun!!!!
I think the class is just more fun and I actually learn better. I don’t stress myself out about the class.
