A senior’s early exit

Today marks the last day of high school for senior Laura Rudeen (center). She enjoyed one of her last moments at East with juniors Caitlin Phelps (left) and Faithe Cox during Singers class. Rudeen’s early release from high school will enable her to begin her summer job as Core Counselor at Covenant Cedars Bible Camp starting on Monday. But before she leaves the building once and for all, Rudeen will perform alongside fellow Set Y members Phelps and Cox in Expressions, held in the auditorium …

Nebraska’s Greatest

East boys soccer team topped off an undefeated season by taking the state title Tuesday, May 18 at Morrison Stadium in Omaha.  Among the scorers were Cole Kilgore (senior), Sam Nobbe (senior), and Kyle Nowka (junior).  It has been 21 years in a row that they have made it to state and have taken 6 titles in that time.  They were also ranked at 5th in the nation going in to the state prelims.  With a perfect record of 24-0, the spartan boys and coach …

Finally! After two grueling weeks of Advanced Placement testing, students can wave goodbye to their AP Student Packs until next spring. From May 19-26, Portfolio Art students will have their work on display in the Commons and the Media Center. Painting and Drawing Portfolio classes are the highest level of art classes offered at East. The goal of the class is to create a cohesive body of work defined by three categories: Breadth, Quality, and Concentration. Students have spent this semester compiling their shows from past and present projects. Next Monday evening there will be a reception for the student artists to share …

UNL Student Teachers Call It a Day
