Finally Spring!…or not

Its finally May. It’s a new marking for being even warmer, beautiful weather and summer like tendencies. yet
May 1 marked the first snow in May for 46 years. Nebraska also broke record amounts of snow as well, out of all the other possible records to break this is by far the best; right? So lug out the shovels that you already put away, pull out the scrapers if you still have them (you don’t) and enjoy this beautiful winte-, um spring day.

May Day!

It’s the first day of May, and you know what that means… candy!
The origin of May Day in American was the tradition of celebrating May by dancing and singing around a maypole, tied with colorful streamers or ribbons, survived as a part of the English tradition. The kids celebrate the day by moving back and forth around the pole with the the streamers, choosing of May queen, and hanging of May baskets on the doorknobs of folks — are all the leftovers of the old European traditions.

Spring College Signings

Today was LSW’s spring signing day. Ten seniors signed for various sports and colleges.

8th graders visit LSW

Today many 8th graders from Scott middle school will visit. This is a great time for them to see the school when it’s in motion.
They will visit a few classrooms and tour the school. This is a good time for them to ask questions and observe the school. They will get to experience lunch, and be able to go to the auditorium. For some they are the first in their family to come here and for others they are following in older siblings foot steps.

National Honor Society Inducts New Members

Today, April 25  Juniors who applied for National Honor Society or NHS, gathered in the gym to be inducted.
NHS is a prestigious organization for students who have strong academics as well as a strong drive to better society.
