Not a lot of seniors dressed up on animal day because they had their senior group pictures. A lot of students are looking forward the last couple days of spirit week. Wednesday is …

posing for senior pictures

BY ERIN LENZ
The class of 2012  came together for senior pictures Aug. 30.  The seniors made light of the situation by making it fun even in the gloomy day that delayed their pictures because of rain.
Posing for the picture can be difficult with 510 seniors.  As the photographer yelled through his loud speaker, coordinating everything was fairly easy.  He lined everyone up by yelling out heights and having them line up accordingly.  Then in a single file line they walked onto the bleachers one by one.

“SHOS is definitely helpful,” says DeWayne Taylor from Student Ambassadors.
Here at Southwest, Student Ambassadors and other clubs at Southwest have joined together to start a program called SHOS or Silver Hawks Helping Other Silver Hawks. It is in its second year.

welcoming the new school year

BY ERIN LENZ
This year is a special year for the students and staff of Lincoln Southwest.  It is the 10-year anniversary of our school, and as Principal Rob Slauson said, “Year 10, oh the places we’ve been.”
School is now back in session and some of us were dreading the return.  But back to school means many things.  For example it means learning new things, seeing your friends everyday and cheering on your school.
This year school events crept up on us.  The first pep rally has already taken place on the …
