It’s been a mere two weeks since auditions for the fall play, but even now “The Laramie Project” is turning out to be far different than any show the Silver Hawk Theatre has done in the past.
The play is about the public reaction to the 1998 murder of the University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard. His murder is widely believed to be hate crime motivated by homophobia.

Students can expect a few changes next year in teachers and in courses offered.
This school year brought several changes already, including the resignations of science teachers Don Woodburn and Pam Sutton, as well as show choir director Elizabeth Goldsmith during the year. These positions have been temporary filled and will be filled permanently filled next school year.
Two other positions will be open after math teachers Jill Phipps and Jim Campbell leave after this year. Phipps is moving with her husband who found a job elsewhere. Campbell will be …

Reading is something that we all learn how to do very early on in life.
If we don’t know how to read, we can’t do well in school and it could cause issues if we are trying to communicate a thought with someone.
Reading is so important because if we don’t know how to read we can’t really stimulate our minds as well as someone who can.

After missing state one year ago, the boys golf team prevailed by four shots over Millard North in the state golf tournament at Pioneers.
Senior Bryce Brown led the way, earning medalist honors with a 134 two-day total. Seniors Brandon Boosalis and Scott Fraser as well as juniors Hayden Thomson and Dylan Lester contributed to the team’s effort.
The boys track and field team took fourth place at state, as did the girls team.
The girls tennis team took second place behind Omaha Marian for the best finish in Southwest history …
