As many LHS students know, the transfer process from middle school to high school in LPS isn’t very complicated. In fact, middle school students coming from a different district only need to fill out one form with a parent signature to transfer in, a much less complicated process than expected. “Emmett Till” was painted by LHS graduate Lily Platte in 2003 for the Lincoln High production of The Laramie Project.
In 2006, Lincoln High School produced an original play entitled This Unsafe Star: The Story of Emmett Till. The play earned local and national attention. It received a Mayor’s Arts Award for Best Youth Performance and was acknowledged at the 2008 Human and Civil Rights dinner hosted by the National Education Association at its national conference in Washington D.C. Over the summer I came across an interesting, and somewhat frightening find. A robot that can consume biomass, have it’s own thought process, and even potentially carry its own weapons! This may sound like something straight out of a science-fiction novel, but according to Robotic Technology Incorporated (RTI), it isn’t.
