One of the most successful music acts to hail from Lincoln has re-formed and hit Lincoln music locales. If you speak to anyone familiar with the history of music in Lincoln, the band Mercy Rule often stands alone. The indie band is iconic of Lincoln’s 1990s music scene and obtained national attention long before bands such as Bright Eyes and Cursive began the talk-show circut. Consisting of Heidi Ore (bass/lead vocals), Jon Taylor (guitar/vocals), and Ron Albertson (drummer), Mercy Rule toured extensively in the 1990s as America’s indendent music scene …

Many students complain about lunch. Not just the food in the cafeteria but upperclassmen complain about how hard it is to make it back to Lincoln High after leaving campus for lunch. The building of most high schools in Lincoln caused an increase of restaurant development near the school. At Lincoln High there are very few options near enough for a half an hour trip because of it’s urban and early development in the city. Coupled with the grid-lock of Lincoln’s lunch time …

Since the dawn of humanity, people have looked up at the Moon, but now it seems that it’s possible for people to be living on the Moon, and looking down at us here on Earth.
Now that water has been confirmed on the Moon it gives …

It’s amazing what a pocket can hold these days: wallet, phone, iPod, and the Complete Works of Shakespeare. Yes, the electronic age is moving towards another takeover: America’s libraries. Before you judge this product, what if I told you the screen looks like a real page of paper? The Kindle is a full electronic device that allows a user to download full texts in a matter of minutes. Rather than being “just another screen” to stare at for hours, the screen of the Kindle looks just like …

In 1992, the Irish quartet U2 attempted something revolutionary: mix multi-media within a live stadium show. The Eno-like thinking was to utilize emerging technology as an art-form, or as drummer Larry Mullen, Jr. surmised, “People get to come to a rock show and watch television. What could be better?” Although stated sarcastically, the sentiment and concept held: televisions have all but overtaken Lincoln’s Memorial Stadium and Cornhusker games have become excercises in fusing media within a multitude of events… concerts, sports, weddings, et al. Since the success …

Psychologists are unsure of what to think as of yet, because research has been minimal. The general consensus seems to suggest that it most likely won’t impact our minds as long as we continue to use our …
